Pierce Manifold BE m/c

I know there was some discussion recently about the new m/c units from
Pierce for the bugeyes.  Not needing one at the time I didn't pay much
attention to the discussion.  Was there a problem with the m/c or was it a
matter of high price.  My present m/c had a brass sleeve put in about 10 yrs
ago.  It worked great until last Jan.  A rebuild only lasted a few months.
