Miles, in Feb. 2005 I installed a 2 post, 8,000 lb., clear floor lift
purchased from Autolifters of America. (see autolifters.com) I have been
very
happy with it.
I went with them, even though they are more expensive that many others,
because:
It is American made (Andover, KS) with American parts. Beware of others
that say something about "American". I found some that are assembled in the
USA
but with Chinese, etc. parts.
They readily published certified, detailed testing results.
I have a 12 foot ceiling in my shop, so went with the "clear floor" design.
They also make a low profile lift for lower ceilings.
I have the optional Triple Arms, which I would recommend for Spridgets and
other sports cars. For my bugeye, I use the front frame rails and rear
quarter elliptic mounting plates for lifting points.
Let me know if you have any questions, etc.
