I use TAS-approved locks. In theory TAS can unlock and relock those,
but what happens when one flies out of the US? Snip-snip.
Until a year or so ago, TSA re-locked all bags with a zip tie...a damn heavy
duty one, after they took our knives, scissors, and anything else we might
have to cut the tie with.
I had to go down to the motel front desk a couple of time and borrow wire
cutters.
Then, all of a sudden, they stopped...????
