3.7 Gears

I know a guy that bought the 3.7 ring and pinion set from MOSS. It took the 
ring, pinion and 4.22 carrier (pumpkin) to a drive train shop to get it 
installed. They told him that the 4.22 carrier would not accept the 3.7 
pinion and that he had to have the 3.7 carrier.

Is this true ?

If it's true then the 3.7 cars must have a different pumpkin even though 
they are interchanable with the others.
