Thanks to all that replied. The next time I deal with these I'll get the
C or JC clips. For the interim, I took the E clips to the grinder and
ground them thinner so they were easier to put on. My main problem (as
I'm sure the rest of you have experienced) was trying to position the
clip without interfering with one of: The roll pin, the bleeder screw,
and the axle flange. Grinding it down thinner helped me to position it
so it interfered with none of these.
I also liked the idea of tapping the roll pin hole so a screw could be
used. Very clever!
