The weather has so far been cooperative in Scottsdale and by noontime today,
a line of at least a hundred people was forming, at an entry fee of $25 a
piece. Not bad for a Thursday, eh?
We were as surprised as anyone to learn that the top dollar figure set on
Wednesday wasnbt a COPO Camaro or a Hemi-powered Plymouth; it was a
beautifully
restored _Amphicar_ (http://dukegirl.smugmug.com/photos/53072126-L.jpg) ,
sold yesterday evening for a staggering $124,200, which has to be an all-time
record for an amphibious car. No question, it was gorgeous, but with that
kind
of money changing hands, webre pretty sure it wonbt ever set foot in the
water again.
