Cyrille, Probably a clearance issue with the frame or piece of equipment. I don't have a RB midget, but I do have some spitfires. The spitfire - same exact engine does not use that adapter, and the oil filter is connected directly to the engine. Bill -----Original Message----- I would like to know if someone knows why, on the 1500cc engine, the oil filter is connected to the block through an adaptor thingy that moves the oil filter 6 inches higher... why is the oil filter not directly connected to the engine block?
