There is nothing at all with using body filler, but you are right: a gallon
is a bit much. The idea is to beat out the panel to as straight as you can
possibly get it in order to use the least amount of filler. THEN use the
filler
to get the panel back to the proper shape and dimensions and smoothness
necessary. Be good if you could enroll in a local evening vocational school
body
program--our local high school vocational school conducts adult programs at
night for about $40 a quarter. By doing this, you would have access to a
bodyman's direction plus acetylene torch with instructions as to how to
"shrink" the
metal back close to its original dimensions. If it is severely dented, it is
probably stretched as well.
