I seem to go thru more clutches on the race car with an aluminum flywheel
vs. a lightened steel one. It doesn't really matter if the motor revs up a
little quicker if ya don't finish the race, eh?
I believe the lower mass requires more feathering and slipping of the clutch
to get underway, and, especially on a street car, I believe that would be a
problem.

Example: A friend has a pretty much full race Motor for the street. He said
he would go with the bigger valves, head work, not as many CC's ( he is over
1400cc), different pistons, (He is runnig race prepared pistons now), not
use a Aluminum fly wheel or the Weber carb because it was a pain in the butt
to adjust when he goes to different altitudes.
