I am afraid thjat a friend who was with me when I brought my 60 Sprite, and who picked out the white color, is not one of the fortunate ones. She survived Camille in 1969, but now (or used to) live a quarter of a mile from the beach in Ocean Springs, Miss. When I talked to her Friday, she was just getting ready to evacuate, and felt assured that Katrina would hit further west. Unfortunately, it made landfall at Ocean Springs and I have been unable to get through her on either her cell phone or home phone. Mary Nell owned a Volvo in 1960, and later drove a 3000 Mk II, but drove my Sprite in auto-crosses, gymkhanas, and rallies. Buster Evans |
