Hi David,

This can sometimes be a nightmare!  First try this.  With the hub firmly
clamped in your bench vise by the studs, try putting a screwdriver in
between the bub and the seal.  Sharp angle.  Takes some pretty good whacking
with a hammer, but most of them will come out this way, especially if
they're the rubber set ones.

Next, turn it over in the vise and if it's the steel backed seal, you may
have to use a dremel tool to cut through most of the metal edge of the seal
that's close to the hub.  Then you can stick a screwdriver under it with
some hammer tapping and collapse it inward.  Then it's an easy removal.
Clean up whatever nicks and raised bits on the hub you've made and put a
TINY amount of silicone seal in there and press in the new seal.  Lightly
oil the seal surfaces before assembling to the dif. end and oil the bearing,
too.  Motor oil will do there.
