is the gen/alt system charging?? Must be
or you'd have a dead batt by this time??
Change the bulb and get back to us!! :):)

Has the dieseling possibly got anything to
do with hot summer ambient temps.??? Gets a bit warmish under there during 
summer weather and most especially while stopped just before shutdown. Using 
hi-test? Or gone to a "cheapo" gas station
recently?? Ign. timing in the "right" place?

And BTW.....how are the cats?? :):)
