A few months ago I had a bunch of listers over the house to help me
install a 1275 and a Datsun 5 speed into my Bugeye. Everyone left
before the thing was even started for the first time. Well, I
eventually got it started before the drive shaft was installed, so I
know the motor is good to go. I finally got the drive shaft installed a
few weeks ago and have not been able to disengage the transmission
since. I have not finished bleeding the clutch (one of my most favorite
jobs) , but shouldn't the rear wheels move freely when the gear shift
lever is in neutral? It does not matter where the lever is, 1st, 2nd,
4th, neutral, etc. I can't disengage the tranny. Is there something
wrong with the transmission, or could it be something else? Any past
experiences with this before I yank the motor and tranny again?
