Hi Kristi,
I don't think that the cable will stick and the wiper motor still
work, if they are connected. More likely the the two half's of the
wiper mechanism is loose and the cable is not engaging. You can
remove the cover on the wiper motor, be careful to note the position
of all the parts. Disengage the cable from the wiper motor and see
if you can move it by hand, it just slides back and forth it does not
turn. If the wipers move then there is a problem inside the wiper
motor unit, if they do not then the problem is between the cable and
the wiper mechanism. I do no know of an easy way to get to the wiper
mechanism other than removing the dash, maybe someone else knows a
trick.
