Frank,
Last time I checked, Pieces was almost as much Midget as Sprite.

And here I thought it was going to be a mention of the marriage of William
Severin Thompon and Nancy... I guess I will have to compensate ;-)
There was indeed a gala celebration at the Dream Farm on June 25th, 2005. A
lineup of Sprites down one wall of the barn (including Rocky, the slightly
less malodorous Sprite of infamy as well as Redrum and Redarse and the
Bishop) added the appropriate touches to the decor. "Son of Secretariat" was
served, together with cous-cous, rice, fruit, and some truly great potato
salad. Quite an assortment of guests were on hand to be regaled by the
ThickTones as well as the sound of Nate Thompson (and others) screaming
around WST's private kart track. The parking lot was replete with vehicles,
but not as many LBCs as the Clarici shindig. There were a Sprite, a Midget,
and a 1958 Alfa in attendance, together with a Model A that could not
possibly have arrived under its own power (although it did have air in the
tires).

Trish and I got drownded on the way home (she knew we should have left
sooner, but she didn't really want to miss the ThickTones' second set). We
took state highways, so there were no overpasses. I know all about going
faster to keep the rain out, but when you are drowning at 75mph (in a 55
zone) and they keep throwing town speed limits on you, and it really isn't
safe to go any faster, you try to find some friendly oak trees to let you
think you could be wetter while you put up the top. It turned out that it
was significantly faster to go the "long way" by interstate than by way of
the state highways, although Trish and I still have no idea why the cop
didn't pull her over when she went through his speed trap at 80 in a 55.
(yes, her gps confirmed the speed.)
