Group,
That site, www.weatherhub.com, gets all their forecasts and
data from the National Weather Service. The link I sent is to
the Philadephia, PA National Weather Service office forecast
page (the horse's mouth, if you will - where weatherhub is
getting their forecast).
As I mentioned yesterday, I am not that excited by the forecast
they have out for Carlisle. A lot can change between now and then.
There are some major changes going on in the general circulations
around the northern Hemisphere which will have huge implications
on weather in the northeast this weekend.
For example, noonish today the forecast from Philly called
for cold and rain at Carlisle over the weekend. Tonight the new
forecasts are starting to dribble in and the picture is quite
different. I expect this flip-flop of forecasts will continue for several
more days as the physical computer models try to catch up to
the energetics of the real atmosphere.
In the end, what I expect to see is a deep upper level low pressure
system somewhere over New England and that, historically, is a
rainy and cold pattern for eastern PA. We shall see how it
progresses, but please do yourself a favor and go to <weather.gov>
to get your weather information. At that site, the forecasts come
straight from *real* forecasters. Most other sites, including The
Weather Channel, Accuweather...etc, simply copy the forecasts
put out by your National Weather Service, a division of the National
Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. They don't want you to
know that, but it's true. What they want you to do is pay them money
for delivering national Weather Service forecasts to you that you
have already paid for with your taxes.
Everybody have a good weekend where ever you go. I'll be here
at work this weekend carefully watching the weather in Carlisle
(among other places!).
Cheers!!
