Just got this forwarded note (from the Wedge list) from my Brother-in-law. 
He drives a TR-7 coupe that has have a BIG Rover V8 stuffed into it.

Richard Branson today announced that his group of companies has purchased the 
name Triumph back from German car firm BMW for 1# Sterling and plans to 
reintroduce the brand globally in 2006. 
 
This needs to happenstated Branson The Triumph name is synonymous with the 
small, fun car and with petrol prices in the US at phenomenal levels the 
SUV is 
soon to be dead 
 
Bransons team has stated the first 2 cars off the line will be copies of the 
TR-4A and the TR-8.  These were 2 of the most fun cars ever madewith modern 
engine control, and new manufacturing technologies this will not only provide 
jobs to this region, it will provide the opportunity for a new generation to 
experience the LBC" (little British car, .ed) said Branson. 
 
The plant location is still under wraps as is the final design of the car. 
William Maykit Chief Engineer of the project states Oh, youll know its a 
Triumph, not that well say exactly what the product will look like.  But weve 
still got the original tooling and with the increased choice for engine types 
and outputs were looking at the TR-8 to be a serious performer.
