My elderly neighbor went in for a tire rotation and the shop gave her
that same BS line. She was so scared, she called me to come get her
because the car was THAT unsafe!
I know this lady, she racks up some 30,000 miles in 5 or 6 years!
The car was a 2 year old Chrysler with 13,000 miles on it. Back then the
speedos turned over at 100,000 so the dealer thought the car had 113,00
on it. She now drives a Honda.
They tried to do this to my daughter once too, she was taught by me :)
She just tells em "thanks for the info, I'll have my buddy at VW get me
the parts cheap and my brother or father will install them."
