I use the stuff in the 5 gal can from Advance Auto. It smells a little, cleans well and I wear industrial rubber gloves. I agree the water based stuff isn't as good, but I did have some that was water soluable that worked well. Can't remeber the name now, it was a few years back. Dave William M.
