My 20 + year wait has finally ended!!!
Back in 1976 when I was a young lad selling Foreign Car Parts in
Trenton, NJ, my boss was hit with a nasty divorce. His stock had to be
hidden from the ex and alot of parts went into two 40' storage trailers.
My old boss went on to different parts of the country, ventured into
different businesses, and we lost touch. I did see him in the early 80s
and I did ask him about the stash in the trailers.
Now, you ain't gonna believe this. I won a Smiths NOS Sprite gas sending
unit on Ebay. As I was about to paypal the guy, I noticed his address as
close to my dad in Trenton. So I asked the seller if my old man could
swing by and pay him cash for the part? Not a problem I saved shipping,
he got cash. My ole man calls me tonight to say the guy had to "go out
back to get the part out of a trailer". My old man says "isn't that
Costanzo's trailer back there?"
Yes it was! The very trailer I have been trying to get into for over 20
years. The parts went in in 1976 but were untouchable for awhile.
So I have arranged with the seller to see what's left in the trailer.
There is only one now, there were 2. Lots of moldy musty boxes, many un
opened since 76. He just started Ebaying the stuff and doesn't know what
is in there. I'm going after all the Brit parts that are left.
Merry Christmas to me!
I am waiting to hear how he gained access to the trailer and how he
knows my old boss.
