The only thing he could be talking about would be the tappet cover vent tube. Its about an inch or two long, taking a downward elbow bend to point at the ground. It was soldered to the frontmost of the two tappet chest covers. It should connect to an extension pipe that bolts to the block to steady it, and ends at a tapered "road draft' tip.
