Nothing on this list is ever that simple. I think it is closer to "this is
an explosive topic, not to mention irrelevant to cars, I don't feel like
getting flamed for something I don't feel particularly strongly about, so I
won't bother posting and maybe it will go away." Along with "this is an
explosive topic, not to mention irrelevant to cars, but I feel strongly
about it and want to share that with the list." To say nothing of "this is
an explosive topic, not to mention irrelevant to cars, I can really pull
so-and-so's chain if I pretend to have this opinion." As well as "this is an
explosive topic about Spridgets, but if I post to the list I will most
likely get flamed by Ed Kaler under whatever pseudonym, so I will reply
off-list." This last is the only one that really bothers me because it means
that the percentage of Spridget content that actually hits the list is much
lower than it should be and makes it look as if we only talk about guns,
cats, Zappa and beer.
