Another evening or two and the little A35 should have working discs.
Thanks to Peter, you were absolutely right, the drum brake king pins are
smaller at the bottom diameter than the disc king pins and are not compatible.
The o-ring seal at the bottom hid the wobble until I loosened the nut at the
top. Both are now swapped for correct disc specific king pins.
And thanks to Frank C. who had a spare king pin to replace the the ruined one.
A bottle of California's other major farm product will be on its way as a
thank you.
Moving the brake lines was major pain and required two of the female
compression nuts to mate to the flex lines from the disc calipers. Luckily,
Norman Nock's place in Stockton had them in stock and gave me an excuse to
cruise the delta in the bugeye. He also had the diaphragm for the gulp valve
and the little spring thingys that press on the brake pads. Good shop, good
stock, good people.
I'm really looking forward to the little pedal in the middle working soon. It
hasn't been much use until now.
