Dean.... ask any Bonneville guy and we can get you there pretty quick..
if you take the tire height in inches and mulitply it by the engine RPM ....
take that number and divide it by the rear gear ratio and then divide it by
336 you will get VERY VERY close to the exact mph....
for example.... 8000rpm X 28" tall tire = 224000 divided by 336 = 666.666
divided by 3.0 gear ratio = 222mph
If you have an overdrive continue to divide it by the OD ratio... in my case
that's .85 which equals... 261mph.... my exact speed at Bonneville this
year by the way....
Data log tells me we maintained.... 8000rpm for the mile.... Dah Daaaa
