Logically speaking...and considering neither new hardware or new gasket
solves the continuing problem in exactly
the same area...either the "deck" or "face" is less than EXACTLY "flat"
(IMHO).
Now if I recall correctly....not that long
ago you mentioned having accidentally run (broken fan belt?) with
indicated coolant temperature "buried".
As I've BTDT (accidentally, of course)
I can tell you from experience that the damage from overheating
(assuming the
gauge was accurate) does not necessarily show up immediately, but
"downline".
On the "carboning" of points:
dizzy over-oiled or cam over-lubricated
(maybe with wrong "grease"?) or dizzy
not completely sealed from crankcase...?
