While I'm breaking in my new motor I'm noticing that I get some oil smoke
after the engine warms up a bit but none while it is cold. Mostly its when I
lift my foot between 1st and second gear, and during strong acceleration. I
used the manganese-bronze guides, but I think the head shop went with rather
fat clearances to avoid the guides seizing the valves, ignoring the tight
clearances I requested to match David Anton's suggestions. I used teflon
seals on ALL the valve stems. I'm tempted to go back to iron guides with
tight clearances.
Thoughts?
