"Relativity" has something to do with my
comment on oxidation...as in synthetic
faster than mineral.
But....
Most especially I find your remarks on
PAO's effect on neoprene to be very
interesting, since this material was used
in the valve seals (inlet) that we just removed from my motor's head,
which
was removed due to oil getting by the
valve guides.
What sort of material is used for this
purpose in engines manufactured with
synthetic motor oil in mind?? Straight
rubber or teflon, etc.?

For the head is
going back together shortly and I want
to use the "right" material for the seals,
having synthetic for future use in mind.
