Excellent, informative, educational post, Rick.
"Tested fine under "static" conditions but
broke down under load". You bet this can
be difficult to trace and find. Went
through two GR starters before we found
out a "new" battery had this exact problem
and was tearing up starter contacts,
accordingly. PITA!
