You got the kit with the "unheated" manifold I bet. Shoulda gotten the
kit with
the "water heated" manifold. If it's not too
late, see if you can exchange it.
Assuming correct timing and all
other things being equally in good shape,
the "problem" is most likely poor initial fuel atomization (cold
air/manifold) which
the "water heated" manifold otherwise solves.
Once the throttle is really open, the manifold cools right down for a
more
dense (power) charge. When you again
get off it, heated water warms the manifold right back up again, making
for
better fuel atomization (smoother, more
economical operation) at idle and part throttle power settings.
