Usually 500 miles on any of our "old" (refreshed) engines, sir!! "Necessary"...yep! Head "moves" along with other parts as they "break in" and become more "friendly" (compatible) with one another....unless for some reason, they decide differently and mechanically "divorce"!! (Bad joke, DB..sorry! :):) Don't forget to re-adjust the valves subsequent to re-torquing, DB, as again, the head will "move". Cap'n.
