Frank,
Don't dump all your 1098's. I'm going to be running one in my Bugeye, when
it's done.
( Hey it's what's in there now). I don't remember if it smokes, it's been
so long. I don't think it did, I'll let you know after it gets running
again.
So I'll take ones you don't want...
Maybe someday I'll go with a 1275+....

Is it me or do all 1098s smoke no matter what?
I have had parts car 1098s that I fired up only to find out the fog up the
neighborhood.
I had a great running 1098 that smoked so I had the head done, it still
smoked.
I just rebuilt a 1098 with new rings and the head done and I was hoping it
was just still "seating the rings" but it smokes.
I never had a 1275 smoke, out of a parts car or one I rebuilt.
Is there a secret to these engines?
I guess I'll just dump all the 1098s I ever find and stick to 1275s.
I hate oil burners!
