Okay, another lister emailed me off list to have me check the bowls
again, and By God there was crap in there again. I emptied them and blew
them out with air, put a filter just before the carbs, (now have one b4
pump, and b4 carbs) took her for a 15 mile ride pulled her back in and
looked in the bowls, nothing this time, and she is running good. The
crap that was is in the bowls looked like very fine whiskers, (maybe
1/8" long, 2 in front bowl, 1 in rear) I don't know if its metal,
rubber, or paint from inside tank, pump, or rubber lines. I had copper
line front to back, but when the engine was installed they spliced in
the fuel pump with rubber. (just a minor irritation after taking all
that time, fitting that fuel line in one piece, but I saw WHY it had to
be done)
SO? With the extra filter, am I good to go? Or do I need to find out
what is doing this? Or is it such a small thing do I need to worry about
it, now that I actually know what this problem feels like.
Thanks all that have been helping,
I take it those that are off list replies, prefer to remain anonymous
