Actually some parts of the story were true.  My mom and Mrs. Cord were
friends and I drove them around town many times.  The car was in her
garage, covered with a tarp.  E.L. Cord lived here in Reno and I met him
in the mid to early 70's.  At the time I worked for Western Airlines and
he had chartered a plane to bring him back home to Reno from the Mayo
Clinic.  I carried him down the stairs (no jet ways at that time).  He
was a very sick man and grabbed my arm with his cold hand and said
"please don't drop me", hey I didn't.  He died shortly after that.  As
to the car Mrs. Cord never let me near it and I have no idea what became
of it.
