Folks, after a very disturbing morning, I just have to vent/share whatever
with the lists.
My grandchildren live in San Antonio, ages 8 and 13, and have a cousin,
nearly 15, that lives there too. Our daughter called this morning to let us
know
there was an Amber alert out for this cousin.
I can't tell you what a feeling this gives you.
Her mom dropped her off last night for a soccer game (that she later found
out had been canceled) and when she went to pick her up, the horror began.
The Amber alert was issued at 9:30 this morning and two hours later, reports
of sightings led the San Antonio police to find the girl.
We still don't know the circumstances surrounding her disappearance, but we
are all thankful that the system worked and our prayers were answered.
Sorry to bomb the list, but this is one of those things we see in the paper
nearly every day, that you think would never happen to your or a relative.
Watch out for those kids folks, it's not like it was when we were young (shut
up
Brad, I never actually saw a dinosaur).
The link below is the news story. Beautiful girl, big for her age. I'm so
glad she was found, I just hope she can get over whatever circumstances caused
her disappearance.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded
state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war
is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight,
nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable
creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the
exertions
of better men than himself.John Stuart Mill (1806 - 1873)
