OK, let me start the ball rolling. I was taking the rear hubs off the
axle after pulling the half shafts. Had new bearings and seals for both
sides. I couldn't budge the left side nut. Finally get it turning and it
falls off and the threads are all but gone. Guess the previous mechanic
didn't know left from right threads. Don't know what was holding it so
tight, unless it was glued somehow. It gets better. The right side comes
off easy enough, but I find a shim under the tab washer. Shreads of it
are in the bearing. Upon further inspection, it says SCHWEPP'S on
it!!!!! So now I'm waiting for a new nut and washer to arrive.
