Had my '72 out for a good run today, and then discovered that
the horn(s) had packed up. I checked and got juice at both
sides of the fuse, and at the horn itself. So I pulled the
horn push, played with the actuating rod, and still got nothing.
I loosened the steering wheel nut and TRIED to pull the
steering wheel, to no avail. Would not budge.
So I arched the horn contacts with a knife blade, and
OLIVER SUDDEN the horn worked.
So ... I re-tightened the nut, replaced the actuating rod,
and the horn push. It all works great now! I gots a horn.
So ...
A) What did I fix and how?
2) If I really, REALLY wanted to get the steering wheel orf,
what should I have done?
