Bill
The brake spring does not fo in the handbrake mechanism.
On the top spring, install it with the shoes on the work bench.
Be careful of it's orientation, it has an offset on it, the offset goes
UP to clear the hub.
You hook the spring in the elongated hole near the E brake mechanism
slot and hook the other end in the round hole opposite.
Cary the shoes to the car and wrestle them over the hub and onto the
wheel cyls.
Now install the bottom spring. It is much easier to install it on the
outside of the shoes and it makes no difference.
Be sure to install the adjuster wedge as they drop out when you remove
the shoes.
Top spring behind the shoes, offset up. do this off the car.
Wrestle them over the cylinders and onto the E brake levers.
Do the bottom spring on the car.
Watch those adjuster wedges.
Also it's a good time to fully remove and lube that adjuster bolt.
It comes out if you screw it all the way in. It comes out from the front
side if you tighten it from the back. needle nose or something like that
are needed to get the last bit threaded thru.
