Bugeyes come up fairly often in Mr. Egan's writings, especially in reference
to his start in racing with a Bugeye. There's an extensive, two-part story on
his history with Bugeye's, both racing and street, in "Peter Egan At Large", a
collection of his feature stories in R&T which is advertised in the back of
the new "Side Glances Vol. 3" so it should be available by mail direct from R&T
even if not listed elsewhere. "Peter Egan At Large" begins and ends with MG
stories, starting with "The Great TC Trek", the story of the trip Peter and
Chris Beebe made from Wisconsin to the Atlanta Runoffs in the early 80's in Joe
Beebe's TC. The book ends with the story of restoring an MGB and driving it to
Road Atlanta. In between are road stories like "The Model A Odyssey" and the
one about trying to go to the Atlanta Runoffs in an Isetta. And then there's
the Mustang (P-51) vs. Messerschmit (Microcar) comparison, the Healey 100 in
the
Smokies story and mucho more.
Great stuff at greater length than his columns.
