As I work on my Sprite, I often look at a part and think, "Is this part
still serviceable or should I replace it?" The answer depends on a lot of
factors, as you know, but reliability ranks near the top of my considerations.
Today in the Wall Street Journal there is a story about vehicle recalls.
They say that one vehicle in 12 is the subject of a recall. I think that I
can put together a vehicle that is at least as reliable as 1 in 12. Ok, Ok,
I realize a Sprite isn't nearly as complicated as new cars / trucks, but
still, the Sprite has been around for a long long time even though we kid
about "Lucas electricals" and oil drips, I wonder how many 2004 cars will
be on the road 50 years from now?
If you own a GM vehicle you know all about recalls according to the WSJ.
And if you own a 1997 Ford F150, you especially know about recalls as that
truck has been the subject of 13 recalls. And if you own Toyota or Honda,
you have no idea what this is all about (per the WSJ).
Well, keep the LBC's running!!
