Drove down to fellow Spridgit lister Jacques Le Clainche's place in the
San Diego area yesterday. It's nice to put a face and voice to people
on the list whenever possible. True to Spridget form, Jacques was a
wonderful host. We talked about his cars. (Love to have his Lotus)
Jacques has a nice antique long gun collection. (what's a Spridget get
together with out discussing guns, eh?) I got a great deal from him on
the sandblast cabinet he had for sale. It's brand new and just the size
I need for the BN2 restoration. Darn, but my present compressor is not
large enough to fit the requirements of this cabinet. A good excuse to
go compressor shopping! I brought the Bugeye down on the trailer so we
could go for a drive, but it was raining. I would have drove the Bugeye
down (before you guys yell about driving these cars) but the sandblast
cabinet would just not fit behind the seats of the Bugeye. Turns out it
was raining and we decided to leave it on the trailer.
Jacques has a real nice Bugeye race car he wants to sell. If someone is
looking for a turnkey racing option, this would be perfect. He even has
the parts to convert it back to street. Email Jacques if you are
interested. I brought my son down with me and we had a nice afternoon
with a fellow lister.
