Big Healeys are legendarily hot in their interiors
(read Peter Egan's "Great Smokies, Big Healey" for a
good account). Not sure about XKs, but many Jags were
notorious for overheating, particularly E-Types.
I know you didn't want Spridget content, but I'm not
sure why there's the perception of overheating in the
Spridgets - my Bugeye with 1275 never ran over 160 in
Florida, 14,000 miles in 2 years there. Nor does my
Midget, which resides in FL now and is used for 2
weeks every July. Nor my race car, which spent a
couple of 97 degree days this summer at Grattan. But
then I'm a downflow radiator kind of guy... ;-).
