Jack, Paul A's kit works as good as the more expensive add-on seals
others sell, but it does require more work on your part or whoever
rebuilds the engine, but none of the "oil seals" will work if the crank
is warped, the line bore is bad, or you have positive pressure in
engine. His kit gets my vote.
Crash
Hi all, I smoked the old 1275 a few month ago. It was using one qt. of
oil per 13 miles. The old banger had piled up lotsa miles and lotsa
years so I don't feel too badly about it. Anyway, as long as it's outa
the car for a rebuild, I'm checking to see if there's an aftermarket
rear oil seal I can install that actually works. Any feedback on an oil
seal source and/or your experiences on this idea will be appreciated.
As always, my thanks to this awesome list!!
Jack
