Sure... Outside air temperature along with the viscosity of oil used within the gearbox will determine whether you start with the clutch "in" or "out" with respect to expected "drag" to be encountered, either way. Using synthetic in my 5 speed during the winter, I've never had the starter turn faster with the clutch "in" rather than "out"...down to 25F at least. I keep the top down year 'round and that's as cold as I can stand for short trips (1/2 hr.). Starting with the gear shift in "neutral" is a given....at ALL times! :) Cap'n. Bob '60 :{) |
