Antony,
Even without servo, the brakes on a disc- brake spridget should just about
make it stand on its nose when set up and applied properly. They do suffer
from overheating and fade when used persistently as in racing but normal
road use should be fine..
Where I pull of the local dual cariage-way into a very narrow single lane
roadway on my way home I slow from 80+ to 10. I don't brake until I am into
the short sliproad so as not to impede other traffic. I paced out the
sliproad at 32 yds! Your brakes should do the same. The only mod to mine is
to use steel braided hoses.
