I'm going to unlurk myself for a quick question, which I suspect will have a
more involved answer. The steering lock on my 79 midget has suddenly decided
that it wants to become difficult. I have a great deal of difficulty turning
it to the off (and key can be taken out) position. It just doesn't want to
turn. I have tried shooting graphite in to the lock but is has made no
difference.
The Haynes manual says that to remove the steering lock you must first remove
the wheel and the steering column. I'm sure that car theives have a quicker
way of doing that, but can it be put back together.
Thanks in advance for the help.
