Of course. The point was that a lack of oil should
not prevent the SU piston from opening fully. In the
dynamic system that is the SU, it is a damping factor
("gain" for the electrical types), it does not govern
the overal "bandwith" of the carb. Kinda like the
effect shock absorbers have on your suspension, they
damp motion, they don't control the maximum travel.
