Dan,
It is not stamped anywhere else on a Bugeye, but you may find it
written in yellow crayon in a couple places if it survived all these
years.
* backside of dashboard
* under the mat on the parcel shelf (behind the seats)
* under the bonnet.
You can verify the VIN number from the following:
* RH door plate (number starts BAE)
* original engine number
To do this, you would have to request a BMIHT certificate (cost around $50).
