Hi, Brian...

Don't "know" the maker but Ron S. seems
to so that speaks for itself considering these are apparently used in
racing...guess they are pretty well made, then. And yes, the price is
below Tilton,
etc.

A lighter flywheel means ligher rotating
mass to accelerate, so it's like taking
weight out of the car so to speak. There
is a formula for this (5lbs. off the flywheel
is like reducing the car's weight by "X" lbs.) but I do not recall it.

Lightening the flywheel also reduces the
"inertia" of the rotating mass so there is
a little more clutch work required in
slow moving, heavy traffic circumstances...more of a tendency to
stall as the clutch is let out at low rpm...
a "slower" foot or a little more rpm may
be necessary, or a combo of the two in
the aforementioned heavy traffic circumstance.

The "accelerative effect" of the lighter flywheel is more apparent in
the lower
gears.

Dynamic balancing of the rotating assembly is a good idea at all times,
inclusive of assemblies using lighter
than stock flywheel.
