With the custom Ebay Sprite and metal dash boards in general.
I do know that the metal dash (like the US 65-67s) continued in the UK
until 1975. I do not know the exact cut off date and they did go to
rocker switches instead of toggles somewhere between 67 and 75.
The dash in my 73 Midget (PIECES) is a UK spec RH drive rocker switched
metal dash. Almost exactly like our (US) 65-67 dashes except it's reversed.
I even found the correct rocker switches from a Mini supplier, the
rocker switches are narrower than the rockers on US padded dash Spridgets.
What I would like to know is where was the ignition key on UK Spridgets
with metal dashboards and rocker switches? Did they have a column mount
key? PIECES has no key, I use a toggle switch mounted in the washer pump
hole as a my ignition.
And if anyone wants to convert (revert) to a metal dash, All roll up
window Spridgets can use either dash with some minor mods.
The padded dash will work in the early cars too but I have never done it.
