No, my consolation comes from the both of us coming away unscathed,
physically. She got a ticket. It's not a nice feeling to know that you
can't avoid hitting an elderly woman's car and you see it getting closer
fast while you see the white head of hair in the driver's seat and can't
find a big enough space to get around.
Same night, my brother's nephew did not walk away from his accident,
although his passengers did. He was coming home from his high school
graduation.
